About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Extend patient care and administrative services for UAMS Women and Infants Service Line physicians in outpatient settings
  • Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, perform procedures, and prescribe medicines and treatments
  • Independently or collaboratively manage patients’ health issues with designated physicians
  • Serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care and facilitate necessary consults
  • Deliver prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including assessments, screenings, and management of complications
  • Collaborate with maternal-fetal medicine specialists for conditions including diabetes, hypertension, and placental abnormalities
  • Support laboring patients, assist with deliveries, and respond to obstetric emergencies
  • Conduct newborn assessments and manage common neonatal conditions in collaboration with the NICU team
  • Educate families on breastfeeding, safe sleep, infant care, and postpartum mental health
  • Engage in telehealth consultations for underserved populations
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and social workers
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities
  • Deliver care through mobile health units and community outreach programs
  • Contribute to clinical research and educate medical students, residents, and healthcare professionals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s Degree
  • Two (2) years nursing experience
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN/CPN License, or PA with State Medical Board
  • Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment
  • Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job, including scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines
  • Must have normal communication sensory requirement
  • Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated
  • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Position subject to pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
