About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support an Adult Facial Plastics service within an academic Level I trauma center
  • First assist for adult facial plastic procedures, including reconstructive and aesthetic procedures as credentialed
  • Perform pre-op planning, consents, equipment and implant readiness, intra-op assistance, and post-op orders
  • Perform urgent and emergent ED consults, including Level I trauma activations as appropriate to scope
  • Independently perform complex facial laceration repair and bedside wound management
  • Conduct inpatient consults, formulate assessments and plans, coordinate imaging and labs, and escalate to attending as indicated
  • Determine disposition and coordinate transitions of care
  • Complete daily rounding, progress notes, order entry, care coordination, discharge planning, and education
  • Ensure safe handoffs and timely outpatient follow-up after discharge
  • Evaluate new and established patients and provide treatment planning and documentation
  • Provide post-op care, wound checks, suture removal, scar care, and minor procedures per privileging
  • Function independently and as an extender under collaborative practice agreements and protocols
  • Provide statewide phone triage and facilitate expedited outpatient appointments or transfer coordination
  • Teach and collaborate with residents, fellows, students, and APP learners
  • Participate in M&M, QA/PI initiatives, protocol development, and evidence-based practice updates
  • Contribute to data collection, registries, and research activities as interested and applicable
  • Complete accurate, timely documentation and coding
  • Adhere to institutional policies, EMTALA requirements, trauma protocols, and infection control standards
  • Support scheduled on-call coverage for ED and inpatient consults
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • APRN: Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • APRN: Three years of nursing experience
  • APRN: Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
  • APRN License
  • Acute Care Certification
  • PA: Master's in PA Studies
  • PA Licensure
  • National certification (PA-C or AGACNP-BC/ACNPC-AG)
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • License or Certificate required for application
  • Three professional references
  • Resume
  • Subject to pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
