About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee and coordinate operational functions across UAMS NWA Regional Campus System facilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including construction projects, maintenance, facility planning, and support services
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote safety, optimize processes, and align operational strategies with organizational goals
  • Lead readiness and compliance across Joint Commission, CMS, and state standards
  • Ensure documentation, action plans, and survey readiness
  • Oversee Life Safety/EOC programs, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions
  • Coordinate Emergency Management planning, drills, and business continuity
  • Manage Work Order system for timely maintenance and escalation
  • Direct Environmental Services/Housekeeping, including staffing, cleanliness, infection prevention, QA, and customer service
  • Oversee Clinical Engineering/Biomedical services, equipment maintenance and safety
  • Lead Supply Chain operations, including inventory, procurement, distribution, par levels, and vendor relationships
  • Manage contracts and vendors, ensuring performance and accountability
  • Lead teams with clear expectations, metrics, and training
  • Ensure hospital readiness and risk management through rounds and corrective actions
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of UAMS

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities management, business administration, engineering, or related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in campus operations, facilities management, planning, and design in healthcare
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of managing complex projects
  • Communication with professional consultants, regulatory agencies, departmental leaders
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations including NFPA 101 & 99, Arkansas Fire Prevention Code, The Joint Commission and Arkansas Department of Health Regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional, AutoCAD, Revit
  • Knowledge of construction estimating
  • Ability to make sound decisions and judgement while maintaining flexibility to focus on multiple projects at the same time
  • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Motor Vehicle Reports Check
  • Must complete pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
