About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support and monitor the Windows Server operating system environment on physical and virtual servers
  • Request configuration specifications within VRA for new virtual servers
  • Reconfigure existing servers within VRA
  • Maintain operating system patch levels
  • Install, monitor, and maintain physical server hardware
  • Work with IT application areas to evaluate new software and compatibility with the UAMS computing environment
  • Provide tier 3 technical assistance to Information Technology, application support personnel, vendors, and non-IT UAMS entities connected to the UAMS network
  • Monitor emerging technologies that would benefit UAMS and complement its mission and goals
  • Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation, taking call for one week at a time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field plus one (1) year of experience supporting two listed technologies, or
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus one (1) year of experience supporting two listed technologies, or
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field plus two (2) years of experience supporting two listed technologies, or
  • High School diploma/GED plus three (3) years of experience supporting two listed technologies
  • Experience supporting at least two of: Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, Azure, PowerShell, Microsoft Active Directory Administration, MS SQL Server Administration, MS Internet Information Server, MS Intune/Configuration Manager, or File and Print Services
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Previous experience in a Research, Higher Education, or Healthcare environment preferred
