About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement the nursing process to manage complex and changing patient care problems
  • Assume accountability for all aspects of care for assigned patients, considering developmental level and age-specific issues
  • Administer medications and treatments and perform procedures according to UAMS and Kids First policies
  • Evaluate children for signs of illness or injury and intervene appropriately
  • Document growth, nutrition, and health data and evaluate trends
  • Coordinate and complete nursing intake, health assessment history, and ongoing nursing assessments
  • Maintain current, accurate, and confidential patient records
  • Coordinate care with other providers and referral sources
  • Collaborate with medical, nursing, dietary, primary care, subspecialty, and UAMS resources
  • Build relationships with clinic leadership and team members
  • Engage and support families using Family Centered Care principles
  • Perform other duties as assigned and temporarily assume Clinic Director duties when needed
  • Support student training and the academic model of Kids First
  • Provide learning activities, including CPR classes
  • Serve as a resource for health, safety, and infection control
  • Acquire knowledge and experience to meet professional goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associates Degree in Nursing PLUS two (2) years RN experience
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arkansas
  • Current CPR instructor status or obtained within six months of hire date
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • License or Certificate required with application
  • Pre-employment screening: Adult Maltreatment, Child Maltreatment, Criminal Background Check, FBI Background Check, Sex Offender Registry
  • Subject to criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
  • Preferred: Bachelors in Nursing
