About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide consultative assistance to providers, nurses, and other ancillary staff of inpatient adult medicine services
  • Provide pharmaceutical care to patients during acute care hospitalization
  • Round daily with the interdisciplinary team
  • Review medications
  • Participate in a pharmacokinetics monitoring service
  • Answer drug information questions for medical and nursing staff
  • Collaborate daily with other Clinical Pharmacy Specialists
  • Act as liaison between the acute care team and pharmacy
  • Oversee patient care functions, maintain accurate records, and refine medication therapies
  • Prioritize tasks, adjust to shifts in practice, and address day-to-day operational challenges
  • Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies
  • Provide training and instruction to staff members and pharmacy students
  • Participate in process enhancement, policy revision, or research initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy Degree
  • PGY1 residency training OR 3 years of applicable experience
  • AR licensure, or eligible for licensure
  • Certification as a licensed Registered Pharmacist by the State of Arkansas or eligibility for licensure; must have a license by the start date
  • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency (preferred)
  • Experience in transitions of care (preferred)
  • Previous acute care adult medicine clinical experience (preferred)
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing
  • Ability to perform hearing, finger manipulation including keyboarding, sitting, standing, talking, and walking
