About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage accounting and analysis of key financials for research-funded projects
  • Prepare financial reports ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Create and manage budgets, contracts, billing, invoicing, and accounts
  • Collaborate with research teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
  • Oversee multiple federally funded budgets and ensure compliance with award terms
  • Monitor expenditures and revenue
  • Coordinate with grants accounting, OSPAN, and ORSP
  • Close accounts and resolve invoices/payments with agencies
  • Extract and analyze financial data
  • Prepare reports for investigators and leadership
  • Improve financial standard operating procedures and identify improvement opportunities
  • Maintain processes and tools for financial services across the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with the research team to ensure smooth workflows
  • Provide professional, confidential support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Uphold patient- and program-centered care principles
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to advance the mission of UAMS ICHI

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business (Auditing, Finance, Accounting), Healthcare Administration, Science, Nursing, and/or related field OR High School, GED, or formal education equivalent plus five (5) years of related experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience with billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or a related field
  • Level I: One (1) year of experience with billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or related fields
  • Level II: Three (3)-Five (5) years of experience with billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or related field plus One (1)+ years of clinical research pre and/or post-contract funding and/or One (1)+ years of grant experience
  • Level III (Senior): Bachelor’s Degree plus Five (5) years of experience with billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or related field plus three (3)+ years of clinical research pre and/or post-contract funding and/or three (3)+ years of grant experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools
  • In-depth understanding of federally funded grant awards and financial terms
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening, which may include criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
