About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and use equipment and supplies that image portions of the human body on x-ray film or fluoroscopic screens
- Position and set up imaging machines, including X-ray and fluoroscopy, to acquire diagnostic-quality images according to exam specifications and safety protocols
- Escort patients to imaging rooms, explain procedures, assist with positioning, and ensure patient comfort, safety, and cooperation
- Ensure correct radiographic exams are performed, repeat only when necessary, and maintain high image quality
- Perform portable X-rays, mobile units, fluoroscopy, surgical settings, emergency department imaging, and other modalities as needed
- Communicate with patients, family members, referring physicians, clinical staff, and clerical staff; answer inbound calls; and coordinate with hospital floors
- Monitor equipment performance, report malfunctions or safety concerns, and help coordinate regular maintenance
- Review patient records, import external images into the PACS system, alert clinical staff, and ensure accurate digital archiving
- Help control patient flow, triage as needed, provide backup coverage, move C-ARMs/O-ARMs, and complete additional assigned duties
- May perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree - graduate of an approved Radiology program
- Registered or eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Licensed by the State of Arkansas in Radiology Technology
- Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- License or Certificate required with application
- Three professional references required
