About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership, strategic guidance, and operational oversight for Professional Skills Training, Customized Training for Employers, and career development services
- Serve as a primary liaison to regional employers, industry partners, and community organizations to drive regional economic growth
- Manage Customized Training for Employers and specialized initiatives such as Firefighter Rookie School
- Lead data collection, tracking, and reporting for Professional Skills Training
- Direct student career counseling, job placement initiatives, and employer engagement strategies
- Administer career assessments and advise students on career paths
- Direct employer-student connections through on-campus recruitment, job fairs, industry visits, and digital job platforms
- Engage regional industry partners, chambers of commerce, and economic development boards to identify workforce trends
- Develop external partnerships, secure funding opportunities, build MOUs, and deliver public presentations promoting UACCB programs
- Coordinate, design, and evaluate Professional Skills Training programs
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate instructional staff
- Advance the Caring Campus culture and support a collaborative, positive workplace environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Higher Education, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in workforce development, professional skills training, career services, or business outreach
- Experience developing community partnerships, managing program data/reporting, and supervising staff or instructors
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, and learning/career software platforms
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and sex offender registry check
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field
- Preferred: Experience working within a community college setting
- Preferred: Experience coordinating workforce programs with academic divisions
- Preferred: Track record securing grant funding or workforce development state funds
- Preferred: Experience creating customized training for employers and inter-agency agreements
