About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in the coordination and indexing of outside records received via Trace and email
  • Send requests to the appropriate Trace inbox
  • Create a referral shell in EPIC for all new requests
  • Ensure scheduled appointments have outside records sent to Medical Records for scanning to the Electronic Patient Folder and provider access before appointments
  • Monitor and forward health information requests to appropriate areas within the institution
  • Update the correspondence log daily
  • Provide daily statistics to the supervisor
  • Complete special projects and related duties
  • Assist in other department areas as determined by the manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management; current enrollment in Health Information Management or Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management and 2 years experience in health information accepted as alternatives
  • High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of experience in health information accepted as an alternative
  • Must be an expert in state and federal laws, HIPAA regulations, and UAMS release of information policies and procedures
  • Current RHIT or RHIA certification or eligibility preferred
  • Resume required
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening and Criminal Background Check
  • Ability to meet stated physical requirements, including lifting and carrying 25 lbs and pushing and pulling 25 lbs
