About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead maintenance, repair, and modification of critical systems serving medical, educational, and research facilities
- Manage maintenance and modification of the Building Automation System (BAS) controlling HVAC equipment
- Manage campus heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment
- Oversee maintenance and repairs during non-standard business hours
- Assist with campus facility problems and emergencies
- Oversee utility personnel, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff
- Approve employee leave, schedule training, complete performance evaluations, and oversee employee discipline
- Review, prioritize, and assign utility-related work orders
- Supervise and evaluate work and ensure necessary corrections are made
- Ensure work orders are completed promptly and closed
- Ensure required activities and testing comply with applicable codes and regulations
- Develop and implement quality control measures
- Assist with budget preparation and ensure assigned areas operate within established budgets
- Purchase materials and equipment for utility operations
- Manage departmental supply inventory
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS diploma/GED plus 10 years of HVAC Control’s experience with additional 5 years supervisory experience
- Valid driver’s license with fewer than 12 points on their Motor Vehicle Record
- Computer program proficiency level: Intermediate
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB Screening
- Subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification)
- Preferred: Baccalaureate Degree with a Major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Similar
- Preferred: Experience in a healthcare setting
- Preferred: CHFM or CHC
- Preferred: Computer program proficiency level: Advanced
