About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support ongoing delivery of care within the multidisciplinary scope of practice
- Work under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
- Work with patients, families, and care providers to implement individual health plans
- Triage, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care and patient education by telephone or in the UAMS Clinic
- Deliver nursing care according to UAMS, ANA, Arkansas State Board of Nursing, and specialty-organization standards
- Help develop and implement patient Plans of Care using assessment data and an interdisciplinary, patient- and family-centered approach
- Provide effective patient and family education
- Collaborate and communicate with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders
- Document care in the medical record and report variances
- Participate in performance improvement, evidence-based practice, research, recruitment, retention, and department activities
- Delegate care according to standards, legal and regulatory requirements, job descriptions, scope of practice, education, and training
- Maintain clinical competencies and support the professional development of other employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program
- Valid LPN License
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB Screening
- Criminal Background Check
- Substance Abuse Testing
- License or Certificate required for application
- Resume and list of three professional references required
