About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs, and record patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
Set up treatment rooms for patient examinations
Register patients and schedule appointments
Manage procedures and administrative tasks
Prepare patients for visits, including vitals, EHR data entry, and escorting them to exam rooms
Communicate the visit reason to the provider
Assist with care, injections, EKGs, procedures, and wound care
Escort patients to labs/radiology and ensure timely return to exam rooms
Handle standing orders when patient load requires extra data entry
Schedule outside procedures and pre-authorizations; route referrals as needed
Support clinic operations and provide exceptional patient care, particularly for Spanish-speaking patients
Work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent formal education
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Certified Medical Assistant in the state of AR
Basic Life Support certification
Ability to provide compassionate and effective care to diverse patient populations
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and medical equipment
Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Precision in recording patient data and preparing specimens for analysis
Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Sex Offender Registry, Substance Abuse Testing
Phlebotomy skills (preferred)
Two (2) or more years of experience in an ambulatory care setting (preferred)
