About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provides direct patient care to assigned Women’s Health patients under the direct supervision of clinic nurses
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examinations
  • Assists with medical procedures and examinations
  • Conducts patient interviews and measures vital signs
  • Performs phlebotomy, EKGs, and dressing changes
  • Administers approved medications
  • Researches and scribes physicians’ notes
  • Orders/accessions orders for clinical laboratory or appropriate processing center
  • Registers and schedules patients using registration and scheduling systems
  • Obtains and documents patient medical histories
  • Prepares patients for exams and procedures
  • Assists physicians, nurses, and midwives during exams and minor procedures
  • Collects and properly handles lab specimens
  • Supports prenatal/genetic screening services in women’s health
  • Monitors patients and reports condition changes to nursing staff
  • Greets patients and assists with check-in/check-out
  • Verifies insurance coverage and collects payments
  • Maintains accurate electronic medical records documentation
  • Cleans exam/treatment rooms and stocks medical supplies and equipment
  • Reports safety concerns or hazards
  • Assists with patient flow and coordination of care
  • Supports team members and acts as a department resource
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School, GED or formal educational equivalent
  • Current BLS
  • Completion of Accredited Medical Assistant training program
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong work ethics and accountability
  • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
