About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the clinic physician with patient examination and treatment
- Conduct patient interviews and collect medical histories
- Measure and record vital signs
- Record patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Register and schedule patients for appointments and procedures
- Advise patients regarding treatment, medication, and physician instructions
- Complete documentation for laboratory submissions
- Manage patient appointment schedules
- Greet patients and customers professionally
- Register and check out patients, collect payments, issue receipts, and verify insurance coverage
- Provide professional customer service to patients, the public, co-workers, management, and ancillary departments
- Maintain confidentiality and follow patient- and family-centered care and conduct guidelines
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program
- Previous experience in an ambulatory care setting (preferred)
- License or Certificate required as an application document
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB Screening
- Criminal Background Check
- Substance Abuse Testing
- Ability to perform required physical activities, including keyboarding, repetitive motion, handling sharps, sitting, talking, walking, feeling, grasping, hearing, lifting, balancing, pulling, pushing, and reaching
