About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides direct patient care to assigned patients at the UAMS Health Benton/Bryant location
- Works under the direct supervision of clinic nurses by assisting in examination and treatment of patients
- Prepares treatment rooms for examinations
- Assists with medical procedures and examinations
- Conducts patient interviews and measures vital signs
- Performs phlebotomy, EKGs, and dressing changes
- Administers approved medications
- Researches and scribes physicians’ orders/accession orders for clinical laboratory or appropriate processing center
- Registers and schedules patients for appointments and procedures using registration and scheduling systems
- Performs other duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School, GED or formal educational equivalent
- Current BLS
- Completion of Accredited Medical Assistant training program
- Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs
- Ability to push and pull 25 lbs
- Ability to work in an inside medical facility environment
