About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the clinic physician in the examination and treatment of patients
- Conduct patient interviews and required screenings
- Measure and record vital signs in patients' Electronic Medical Records
- Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Perform EKGs as needed
- Prepare and stock treatment rooms
- Register and schedule patients using registration and scheduling systems
- Collect and record medical histories and vital signs
- Advise patients regarding treatment, medication, and physician instructions
- Manage patient appointment schedules
- Greet patients and customers
- Register and check out patients, collect payments, issue receipts, and verify insurance coverage
- Complete documentation for laboratory submissions
- Provide professional customer service and maintain confidentiality
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Registered or Certified in Medical Assistant (preferred)
- One (1) year of Medical Assistant experience (preferred)
- BLS (CPR) Certification (preferred)
- Ability to perform point of care testing, draw and collect blood specimens, and prepare for laboratory processing
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- License or Certificate required among application documents
- Completion of pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
