About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work under the direct supervision of the clinic physician and closely with the nursing staff of the Spine Service Line
  • Conduct patient interviews and required screenings
  • Measure and record vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height
  • Record patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Collect and record patients’ medical history and acquire vital signs
  • Advise patients regarding treatment, medication, and physician instructions
  • Collect lab samples and complete documentation for laboratory submission
  • Manage patient appointment schedules by balancing medical needs with patients’ timetables
  • Greet patients and customers professionally and courteously
  • Register and check out patients, collect payments, issue receipts, and verify insurance coverage
  • Interact with and assist the public professionally and provide customer service
  • Communicate accurate and complete information and maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, management, and ancillary departments
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Sex Offender Registry screening
  • Substance Abuse Testing
  • Resume and proof of veteran status required for application
  • Ability to perform point of care testing, draw and collect blood specimens, and prepare specimens for laboratory processing
