About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process, evaluate, and perform microbiology tests to identify microorganisms or antigens according to written procedures
- Perform susceptibilities
- Record and evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly QC in assigned areas for supervisor review
- Maintain safe work practices and follow regulatory requirements
- Engage the supervisor, manager, or director as appropriate
- Conduct inventory counts in assigned areas
- Restock supplies and report supplies to be ordered
- Store received supplies according to storage requirements and regulations
- Coordinate with staff from various departments on acquisition, testing, and reporting of patient test results
- Perform function checks on analyzers, laboratory equipment, and automation equipment
- Complete machine maintenance and calibrations
- Troubleshoot problems and work with service representatives to facilitate instrument repairs
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Sciences OR an approved ASCP discipline
- 30 semester hours in biology and chemistry, which may be obtained within, or in addition to, the Bachelor's
- ASCP or another accrediting agency certified or eligible
- Certification must be obtained within one year of employment
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs
- Ability to push and pull 25 lbs
- Ability to follow written procedures and regulatory requirements
