About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Handle and process human milk through the milk bank laboratory
  • Maintain lab equipment, clean all areas, storage and distribution zones, and maintain operational inventory
  • Process human milk and perform bacterial testing and macronutrient analysis
  • Maintain food handler certification
  • Interact with and assist the public in a professional and friendly manner
  • Communicate accurate and complete information while maintaining strict confidentiality when necessary
  • Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, management, and ancillary departments
  • Follow the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders with exceptional customer service
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma
  • One (1) Year Hospital or Healthcare Laboratory technician experience
  • Food Handler Certification within four (4) weeks of hire (at hospital orientation)
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Substance Abuse Testing
  • Ability to perform crouching, grasping, hearing, lifting, standing, walking, keyboarding, repetitive motion, talking, and sitting
