About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide anesthesia services in a collaborative care team for patients of all acuity levels and in a variety of settings
  • Perform and document preanesthesia assessment and evaluation
  • Review, request, and order laboratory/diagnostic studies as permitted by state law
  • Obtain informed consent for anesthesia and related services
  • Select, obtain, order, and administer preanesthetic medication or treatment
  • Develop and implement anesthesia care plans
  • Prepare and use equipment, monitors, supplies, drugs, fluids, and blood products for sedation, anesthesia, and pain management
  • Perform airway management, including fiberoptic intubation
  • Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia and maintain patient stability during transfer
  • Provide cardiovascular and respiratory support during the post-anesthesia period
  • Evaluate patient response to anesthesia and surgery and take corrective action
  • Provide post-anesthesia follow-up care and discharge patients from the post-anesthesia care unit
  • Implement acute and chronic pain management modalities
  • Manage emergency situations, including airway management, emergency medications and fluids, and basic and advanced cardiac life support techniques
  • Participate in educational programs and monthly departmental meetings
  • Pursue ongoing professional educational growth
  • Maintain current CRNA licensure requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master Degree or Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia by date of hire
  • Current CRNA license or CRNA Licensure by date of hire
  • Certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists by date of hire
  • Accountability and high level problem solving abilities
  • Ability to be fitted for, don, and perform routine tasks in N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR)
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing
  • License or Certificate, three professional references, and resume required for application
