About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the ongoing delivery of care as a trained member of the unit-based team
  • Work under the direct supervision of the R.N.
  • Obtain patient report and maintain ongoing communication with the R.N. regarding patient care and changes in condition
  • Inform the nurse of patient requests or complaints
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
  • Transport patients to other areas of the hospital as directed
  • Carry out the patient Plan of Care using a multidisciplinary approach as delegated by the Team Leader
  • Communicate with team members to facilitate patient care
  • Accept directions from R.N.s and team members
  • Follow through on delegated patient care activities
  • Provide grooming, oral hygiene, comfort measures, ambulation, chair transfers, turning, and repositioning assistance
  • Accurately and timely document patient care activities, vital signs, ADLs, wave tests, and I&Os
  • Assist patients and visitors with information and solutions to problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School, GED or formal educational equivalent
  • Health Care Experience
  • Patient Care Experience
  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Military Corpsman
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong work ethics and accountability
  • Successful completion of patient care technician course is required within 3 months of employment
  • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Must pass the required competencies
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs
  • Ability to push and pull 25 lbs
