About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform patient care tasks and duties that do not require a license
- Support ongoing care delivery as part of the unit-based team in the H7 Medical Oncology Unit
- Work under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses
- Obtain patient reports and maintain ongoing communication with RNs about patient care and condition changes
- Inform nurses of patient requests or complaints
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Transport patients to other hospital areas
- Carry out delegated plans of care using a multidisciplinary approach
- Communicate with team members to facilitate patient care
- Follow delegated patient care activities and nursing standards
- Provide grooming, oral hygiene, comfort measures, ambulation, chair transfers, turning, and repositioning assistance
- Document patient care activities, vital signs, ADLs, wave tests, and intake/output accurately and promptly
- Assist patients and visitors with information and problem resolution
- Notify appropriate staff of problems requiring prompt intervention
- Complete other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED
- Successful completion of patient care technician course within 3 months of hire
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to follow oral instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Strong work ethics and accountability
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs. to waist height
- Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Must be fitted for and capable of donning and performing routine tasks in N95 masks, PAPR or CAPR
- Must pass required competencies
- Three professional references and resume required
- Subject to pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
