About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the ongoing delivery of patient care as part of the unit-based team
  • Work under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Perform tasks that do not require a licensed practitioner, professional judgment, or intervention
  • Assist patients and visitors with information and issues
  • Notify appropriate staff members of problems requiring prompt intervention
  • Obtain patient reports and communicate with nursing staff regarding patient care and changes in condition
  • Inform nurses of patient requests or complaints
  • Document patient care activities, including vital signs, activities of daily living, wave tests, and input and output
  • Provide grooming, oral hygiene, comfort measures, and assistance with patient activities
  • Monitor and maintain adequate supply levels inside and outside rooms
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examinations
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge
  • Transport patients to other hospital areas as directed
  • Serve as a resource person supporting department members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of PCT course within 3 months of hire
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Substance Abuse Testing
  • Ability to perform the stated constant, frequent, and occasional physical activities, including lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, and manipulating items with fingers
