About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform patient care tasks and duties that do not require a license
  • Support ongoing care delivery in the combined Transitional Care and Short Stay units
  • Work under the direct supervision of the RN and within Department of Nursing standards
  • Obtain patient report and maintain ongoing communication with the RN regarding patient care and changes in condition
  • Inform nurses of patient requests or complaints
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge
  • Transport patients to other hospital areas
  • Carry out delegated patient care plans using a multidisciplinary approach
  • Communicate with team members to facilitate patient care
  • Follow through on delegated patient care activities
  • Provide grooming, oral hygiene, comfort measures, ambulation, chair transfers, turning, and repositioning assistance
  • Document patient care activities, vital signs, ADLs, wave tests, and I&Os accurately and timely
  • Assist patients and visitors with information and problem solutions
  • Serve as a resource person for department members
  • Notify appropriate staff of problems requiring prompt intervention
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong work ethics and accountability
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs. to waist height
  • Ability to be fitted for, don, and perform routine tasks in N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR)
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Pass required competencies
  • Undergo pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
  • Required documents: list of three professional references and resume
