About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the ongoing delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team under the direct supervision of the R.N.
  • Perform tasks and duties that do not require a license, professional judgment, or intervention
  • Prepare patient rooms
  • Assist with medical procedures and examinations
  • Conduct patient interviews and measure vital signs
  • Perform phlebotomy and EKGs
  • Research and scribe for physicians as needed
  • Perform administrative tasks
  • Cross-train as an IA, greeting guests, making them feel welcome, and keeping them informed
  • Route new orders and consults
  • Answer call lights and meet the unit’s paging needs
  • Monitor and meet patient needs to support seamless patient flow
  • Perform admission and discharge duties
  • Reconcile and enter patient charges and perform data entry
  • Assist with stocking and cleaning
  • Perform telemetry and video monitoring
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year of Patient Care Experience
  • Must pass the required competencies
  • Experience working with EPIC system (preferred)
  • Call center experience (preferred)
  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Military Corpsman (preferred)
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology (preferred)
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers and MS Office Suite (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong work ethic and accountability
  • General knowledge of office machines, including printers and scanners
  • CPR Certified/Licensed (preferred)
  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting (preferred)
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing
