About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clerical and patient care support to the Patient Management Team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or other licensed/certified health care disciplines
  • Assist with processing medical records for patient admission and discharge
  • Serve as receptionist for the unit
  • Assist patients with direct patient care
  • Follow delegated patient care activities from the RN and team members
  • Provide grooming, oral hygiene, comfort measures, and mobility assistance
  • Document patient care tasks, vital signs, ADLs, wave tests, and intake and output
  • Obtain patient reports and communicate with the RN regarding patient care
  • Inform nurses of patient requests or complaints
  • Carry out delegated Plans of Care using a multidisciplinary approach
  • Communicate with team members to facilitate patient care
  • Assist patients and visitors with information and problem resolution
  • Support department members in performing their duties
  • Notify appropriate staff of problems requiring prompt intervention
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge
  • Transport patients to other hospital areas as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1 year of patient care in a health care setting
  • Resume required
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Competency to perform assigned tasks that do not require a licensed practitioner, professional judgment or intervention
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment criminal background check, substance abuse testing, and education verification
  • Ability to perform required physical activities, including standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, balancing, crouching, grasping, stooping, hearing, and repetitive motion
