About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide pharmaceutical services throughout the medical center and consultative assistance to physicians, nurses, and clinic staff in neonatal ICU specialty areas
- Serve as an active member of multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with healthcare providers in decentralized patient care areas
- Deliver medication therapy management services and adjust care according to patient response
- Provide clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse effects and ensure effectiveness of pharmaceutical care programs
- Recommend alternative treatments as necessary
- Facilitate specialty medication procurement, ordering, and dispensing procedures
- Adopt practices to improve work processes
- Develop and implement systems to track outcomes and report project activities
- Support experiential education and create documentation for clinical trials upon request
- Develop evidence-based academic and detailed informational materials using computer software
- Support population health initiatives to improve medication-use systems, patient safety, therapeutic outcomes, and cost control
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy Degree
- PGY1 residency training OR 3 years of applicable experience
- AR licensure or eligible for licensure
- Board certification in pediatrics and/or pharmacotherapy is preferred and required within 3 years of hire
- Required documents include a license or certificate, three professional references, and a resume
- Pre-employment annual TB screening, criminal background check, substance abuse testing, and education verification
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Ability to work day shift
- Ability to perform standing, keyboarding/finger manipulation, reaching, talking, and sitting activities
