About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate physical therapy to children from birth to age 5
  • Provide individualized treatment, monitor progress, and adjust interventions
  • Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and weekly billing according to UAMS Kids First and Medicaid requirements
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including families, therapists, nurses, social workers, developmental staff, and community partners
  • Promote Family-Centered Care and educate families to support children’s development
  • Contribute to student training, professional education, and community outreach
  • Participate in research, program initiatives, and activities advancing pediatric care
  • Maintain professional licensure and ongoing learning in pediatric physical therapy and evidence-based practices
  • Travel to other UAMS Kids First locations as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the UAMS Kids First mission

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant studies
  • Current professional license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
  • Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
  • Experience working with children from birth to age 5 is highly desirable
  • Experience with pediatric gross motor delays or developmental disorders is a plus
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • License or Certificate required for application
  • Completion of pre-employment screening, including Adult Maltreatment, Child Maltreatment, Criminal Background Check, FBI Background Check, and Sex Offender Registry checks
