About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Foster and maintain relationships with community physicians to support hospital and specialty service line growth goals
  • Act as a bridge between physicians and UAMS service lines
  • Identify physician needs, present value-added solutions, and drive engagement
  • Track and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual growth metrics
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to leadership, including sales encounters and activity tracking
  • Develop bridge plans with leadership when metrics are not met
  • Build and nurture new and existing relationships with physicians and key individuals
  • Research physician clients and gather market and specialty information
  • Create physician and practice profiles before initial visits
  • Conduct routine sales calls and visits with community physicians and staff
  • Coordinate internal sales activities with laboratory, radiology, outpatient services, and other service areas
  • Facilitate problem resolution and tailor communication tools to physician preferences
  • Report issues to the Sr. Director, Service Line Directors, and Hospital Leadership
  • Participate in monthly meetings with service line directors and hospital personnel
  • Maintain issues, status logs, and encounter files using an account management platform
  • Provide appropriate follow-up and monitoring

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience (4 years of professional-level work) may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years of sales experience, preferably in physician recruitment, medical, or pharmaceutical sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Initiative and judgment to handle organizationally and politically sensitive situations
  • Strong follow-through and results tracking to meet measurable targets
  • Conflict management and change facilitation skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proficiency in computer software and account management tools (e.g., Salesforce, ACT, or similar platforms)
  • Familiarity with the anatomy of a sales call, including opening, probing, proving, closure, and securing commitments
  • Knowledge of Stark, Anti-trust, and kickback laws and their application in communications
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Successful pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
