About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute growth goals to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to leadership, including operating reports on sales encounters and activity tracking
  • Develop bridge plans with leadership when metrics are not being met
  • Build and nurture existing and new relationships with physicians and key individuals
  • Identify physician needs and present ways UAMS service lines can add value
  • Research physician clients and gather market and specialty information
  • Create physician/practice profiles before initial visits
  • Conduct routine sales calls and visits with community physicians and their staff
  • Coordinate internal sales activities with laboratory, radiology, outpatient services, and other service areas
  • Maintain relationships with physicians and staff and facilitate problem resolution
  • Report issues to senior and hospital leadership, identify root causes, and drive resolution
  • Respond promptly to situations requiring immediate attention as directed by administration
  • Participate in monthly meetings with service line directors and hospital personnel
  • Share visit insights and set target lists for future sales efforts
  • Maintain issues and status logs and provide follow-up
  • Maintain an encounter file of visits and discussions using an account management platform

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience (4 years of professional-level work) may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years of sales experience, preferably in physician recruitment, medical, or pharmaceutical sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Initiative and judgment for organizationally and politically sensitive situations
  • Strong follow-through and results tracking
  • Conflict management and change facilitation skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proficiency in computer software and account management tools such as Salesforce, ACT, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with the anatomy of a sales call, including opening, probing, proving, closure, and securing commitments
  • Knowledge of Stark, anti-trust, and kickback laws and their application in communications
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
