About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform animal handling and basic animal procedures
  • Conduct genotyping and standard molecular biology techniques
  • Maintain and work with cell cultures
  • Perform experiments requested by the Principal Investigator
  • Support general laboratory operations and maintenance
  • Supervise a laboratory group consisting of students and laboratory staff
  • Train new employees and students in basic laboratory procedures and techniques
  • Ensure laboratory personnel comply with University, State, and Federal guidelines for safe laboratory operations
  • Work toward independent research and funding in collaboration with the cardiovascular research team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD in Bioscience or related field
  • Experience with animal studies, cell culture, Western blotting, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy preferred
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
