Program Coordinator

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide assistance to ensure animal care and use activities related to research and/or teaching conform to applicable institutional, state, federal, and external regulatory requirements and guidelines
- Manage administrative functions of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
- Support the IACUC Program Director, committee members, and Chair
- Coordinate meetings, inspections, and training sessions
- Prepare and distribute agendas and meeting materials
- Attend IACUC meetings and independently follow up on action items
- Maintain IACUC policies and monitor review cycles
- Maintain and update the IACUC webpage
- Provide assistance and training on Muse, the IACUC electronic protocol management system
- Review protocol submissions for administrative compliance, completeness, and personnel training requirements
- Interact with principal investigators and research teams to resolve issues
- Verify training information using Workday, CITI Program, and other electronic resources
- Manage protocol lifecycle, including pre-review, review, approval, and post-approval activities
- Coordinate protocol review workflows and administrative documents
- Respond to information requests and solve problems
- Interpret and apply policies and procedures relating to institutional animal care and use and research compliance
- Communicate with institutional offices and outside agencies
- Review operating procedures and recommend improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree OR High School diploma/GED plus four (4) years of administrative or program coordination experience required
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, negotiating, and teamwork skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- ACUC Animal Care and Use Committee modules of the CITI Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Training preferred
- General understanding of biomedical animal research and regulations preferred
- Biomedical research, regulatory/compliance, education/training, or veterinary experience preferred
- Curriculum Vitae, list of three professional references, and resume required
