About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple federally funded research projects related to community violence prevention and health disparities
- Assist principal investigators with recruitment, retention, data collection, management, analytics, research design, grant writing, and dissemination
- Schedule and facilitate investigator and research staff meetings; prepare agendas and minutes
- Develop study documents, training materials, standard operating procedures, and process improvement strategies
- Coordinate recruitment, participant communication, data collection, intervention implementation, and intervention fidelity monitoring
- Monitor study activities, timelines, milestones, goals, metrics, and action items
- Maintain project logs, records, databases, inventory, and study deliverables in REDCap and other systems
- Serve as liaison and point of contact between UAMS, principal investigators, community partners, vendors, and external partners
- Assist with quantitative and qualitative data gathering, entry, cleaning, monitoring, coding, interpretation, and analysis
- Administer surveys, interviews, and focus groups; develop and refine data collection instruments
- Prepare narrative reports, graphs, tables, charts, study reports, grant proposals, publications, presentations, and training materials
- Present findings at scientific and community meetings and workshops
- Assist with IRB protocols, regulatory and compliance reporting, study protocols, data security, confidentiality, quality, and integrity
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Research Assistant I: Bachelor's degree plus one (1) year of research experience
- Research Assistant II: Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of research experience
- Research Assistant III: Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of research experience
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and valid auto insurance
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate with clinicians, staff, and community organizations
- Willingness to learn and apply new skills; commitment to excellence
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Highly motivated, creative, critical thinking, resourceful, detail-oriented, highly organized, responsible, collaborative, and problem-solving skills
- Preferred: Master’s degree in public health, Health Promotion, Health Administration, or related field
- Preferred experience with community-engaged and/or clinical research projects, firearm violence prevention research, and hospital-based violence intervention programs
- Preferred proficiency with REDCap, UAMS IRB Regulatory Systems, Workday, grants petty cash, task management software, and qualitative and quantitative analysis software
- Research evaluation with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
- Demonstrated commitment to community-engaged, health equity, and trauma-related research
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Resume required for consideration
