Research Associate I
University of Arkansas System. Perform experiments relating to pathogenesis and microbiology .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform experiments relating to pathogenesis and microbiology
- Perform routine animal work and microbiological techniques, including bacterial growth and genetics, ELISAs, and Immunoblots
- Perform experiments relating to mouse work and bacteriology research
- Organize and oversee daily laboratory operations
- Order supplies and small equipment
- Maintain chemical inventories
- Enter computerized data
- Perform routine chemical safety checks
- Help train graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and temporary undergraduate students
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, bacteriology, biochemistry, genomics or related field
- Four (4) years of research laboratory experience required
- Basic knowledge of the equipment used in a research laboratory
- Willing to work with, handle, and perform experiments involving laboratory mice
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Master's degree in Microbiology (e.g., bacteriology) or a related field (preferred)
- 3 to 4 years of laboratory experience (preferred)
