About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Help design and perform experiments under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator
- Monitor project progress and collect, analyze, and summarize research data
- Plan and conduct routine molecular studies, including RNA and protein isolation, gene and protein expression studies, cell sorting, microscopy, flow cytometry, and cell isolation
- Perform routine cell and tissue culture
- Conduct lentiviral transductions
- Evaluate the in vitro efficacy of immunotherapies against various solid cancer cells
- Perform surgical procedures to establish in vivo tumor models
- Study the effects of immunotherapies on tumor growth in vivo
- Participate in publishing research findings
- Contribute to preparing grant proposals for funding agencies
- Conduct research on the lymphatics project
- Prepare and contribute to research progress reports, manuscripts, patent applications, and other scientific documents
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree PLUS four (4) years of research experience required
- Understanding of the principles of biology, pharmacology, and physiology
- Proficiency in handling laboratory animals and performing surgical and nonsurgical animal procedures
- Proficiency in preparing and maintaining cell cultures
- Experience with experimental methods commonly used in immunology, microbiology, and molecular biology
- Experience with Western blot, PCR, flow cytometry, tissue processing for histopathology, and adenoviral transfections
- Computer skills in word processing, data management, biostatistics, and scientific presentations
- Ability to conduct literature research, perform simple statistical analyses, and prepare scientific presentations
- Ability to refine ongoing protocols, summarize interim and final results, and develop new research protocols
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
