About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide quality respiratory care under physician direction and Respiratory Care Clinical Team Manager supervision
- Perform routine respiratory care procedures, including updrafts, metered dose inhalers, chest physiotherapy, arterial blood gases, incentive spirometry, intrapulmonary percussive ventilation, patient education, and mechanical ventilator setup and management
- Assist in codes and rapid responses
- Call for or physically move equipment and medical supplies into assigned work areas
- Enter patient treatment notes in the e-chart system and/or patient charts
- Adhere to institutional and departmental policies, procedures, standards, license limits, and credentials
- Promote a healthy work environment and project a positive image for UAMS Medical Center
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma plus 2 years direct respiratory care experience OR an Associate's degree in Respiratory Care
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Must hold a current Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP)
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Respiratory care
- Preferred: ACCS, NPS, ACLS
- New graduates welcome to apply
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR)
- Required application documents: license or certificate, three professional references, and resume
- Subject to pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting and carrying 100+ lbs and pushing and pulling 100+ lbs
