About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide theory- and evidence-based knowledge shaping practice and core competencies for ambulatory nursing staff
  • Provide area leadership for orientation, professional development, skills/competency validation, evidence-based practice, shared governance, regulatory compliance, nurse-sensitive quality indicators, and performance improvement
  • Collaborate with administrative leaders and multidisciplinary teams as a leader, consultant, and change agent
  • Identify clinical problems, prioritize needs, develop and implement interventions, and evaluate processes
  • Assess and design training and educational programs addressing deficiencies and learning needs
  • Apply adult learning principles and culturally appropriate initiatives
  • Identify barriers to learning and suggest resolution alternatives
  • Consult with departments, staff, and managers to determine goals
  • Establish and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Promote patient and family engagement, respectful communication, privacy, confidentiality, and customer responsiveness
  • Promote a safe working environment and comply with institutional safety policies and regulatory agencies
  • Identify and communicate quality concerns; facilitate change processes
  • Adhere to UAMS Code of Conduct and department policies
  • Improve work processes, enhance guest satisfaction, and reduce waste
  • Participate in continuing education and professional/institutional advancement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma or Bachelors in Nursing
  • 4 years clinical experience with 2 years in specialty area and 2 years in leadership role
  • Current Registered Nurse License
  • Experience with hiring (interviews) preferred
  • Special project involvement, experience as RN IV, Charge Nurse, or Team Lead preferred
  • Active BLS preferred
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate with others effectively
  • Ability to document services provided
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance organizations/agencies
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Understands and abides by confidentiality policies
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing
