About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct patient care as a registered nurse
- Coordinate and triage patient care
- Work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff
- Work with patient referral sources
- Facilitate appointments and coordinate transitions of care
- Provide patient education on complex conditions
- Develop and implement individual health plans with patients, families, and care providers
- Deliver nursing care within the limits of the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and UAMS policies, procedures, and standards
- Collect and document assessment data
- Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care
- Administer medications and provide drug information to patients and families
- Provide patient and family education and discharge planning
- Act as a resource and support others
- Delegate care according to UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, and education and training
- Support a positive clinical education environment and serve as a resource for student nurses and staff
- May perform other duties as assigned
- IHA+ staff may be scheduled to work at any ED site within the UAMS umbrella
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master’s degree in Nursing
- Must be a graduate of an accredited RN Nursing program
- Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience
- Valid Nursing license
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic and accountability
- Employees must be fitted for and capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment including N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR)
- Current BLS preferred
- Current ACLS preferred
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Sex Offender Registry, and Substance Abuse Testing
