About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department
  • Coordinate care and triage patients
  • Work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff
  • Work with patient referral sources
  • Facilitate appointments
  • Coordinate transitions of care
  • Provide patient education on complex conditions
  • Develop and implement individual health plans with patients, families, and providers
  • Collect and document assessment data
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Plans of Care
  • Administer medications and provide drug information to patients and families
  • Delegate care according to UAMS standards and legal and regulatory requirements
  • Support other staff and serve as a resource for student nurses
  • Provide effective patient and family education and discharge planning
  • Contribute to a positive clinical education environment
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited RN Nursing program
  • Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and accountability
  • Employees must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment including N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR)
  • Current BLS preferred
  • Current ACLS preferred
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Sex Offender Registry, Substance Abuse Testing
