About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse
- Coordinate and triage patients
- Work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff
- Work with patient referral sources
- Facilitate appointments and coordinate transitions of care
- Provide patient education on complex conditions
- Develop and implement individual health plans with patients, families, and care providers
- Deliver nursing care within the limits of the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and UAMS policies, procedures, and standards
- Collect and document assessment data
- Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care
- Administer medications and provide drug information to patients and families
- Provide patient and family education and discharge planning
- Act as a resource and support others
- Delegate care according to UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, job description, and education and training
- Support a positive clinical education environment and serve as a resource for student nurses and staff
- May perform other duties as assigned
- May be scheduled to work at any ED site within the UAMS umbrella
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master’s degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited RN Nursing program
- Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience
- Valid Nursing license
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic and accountability
- Current BLS preferred
- Current ACLS preferred
- Ability to be fitted for, don, and perform routine tasks in N95 masks, PAPR, or CAPR personal protective equipment
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Resume required
- Completion of annual TB screening, criminal background check, sex offender registry check, and substance abuse testing
