About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse
- Coordinate care and triage patients
- Work collaboratively with clinic providers, fellows, and staff
- Work with patient referral sources
- Facilitate appointments and coordinate transitions of care
- Provide patient education on complex conditions
- Develop and implement individual health plans with patients, families, and providers
- Collect and document assessment data
- Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care
- Administer medications and provide drug information to patients and families
- Delegate care according to UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, education, and training
- Support other staff and serve as a resource for student nurses
- Contribute to a positive clinical education environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
- Valid RN License issued by the State of Arkansas
- One year patient care experience similar to or related to the position applied for
- 12 months experience in an acute care hospital, including 6 months in a direct patient care role in an acute care hospital within the past 12 months
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Strong work ethics and accountability
- Specialty areas such as Intensive Care or F4 Surgical Trauma require pre-screening testing with a minimum score of 80%
- Chemotherapy certification may be required to work Oncology units
- Ability to work one major holiday and one additional holiday, plus two weekend shifts
- PRN staff limited to 1000 hours in a 12-month rolling year
- Ability to don and perform routine tasks in N95 masks, PAPR or CAPR equipment
- Successful pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
