About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide direct patient care throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative phases
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for surgical patients
Maintain a safe and sterile operating room environment
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and perioperative team members
Conduct patient assessments and verify patient identity, procedure, consent, and surgical site
Prepare the operating room and maintain sterile technique
Monitor patient condition throughout surgery and respond to clinical changes
Act as a patient advocate and uphold safety standards
Communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
Provide education on surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and postoperative care
Document intraoperative care
Manage surgical instruments and equipment
Adhere to infection prevention protocols
Facilitate transitions to recovery staff
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Develop and implement individualized perioperative plans of care
Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products according to established protocols
Maintain surgical counts, specimen handling, and proper patient positioning
Delegate tasks appropriately
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
Valid RN License
Minimum of 1 year Registered Nursing experience
Basic computer skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong work ethics and accountability
Ability to follow oral instruction, read and write
BLS (Or obtain within 30 days of hire)
Scrubbing experience
Orthopedic experience a plus
1-year Operating Room experience (preferred in Orthopedics)
Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse Testing
