About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise 5 FTE and 2 PRN employees while functioning as a Room Service Ambassador as needed
- Serve as the point person for the patient foods room service model
- Supervise Room Service Ambassadors assisting patients with menu selection and ensuring meals and nourishments comply with prescribed diets, food allergies, and preferences
- Listen to calls, assist as needed, and monitor the call queue
- Handle heavy daily call volume and support operators, dietitians, and clinical staff
- Coordinate daily lunch and break assignments
- Train new call center operators and provide training on updates and changes
- Keep managers updated on employee-related issues and departmental changes
- Work with departments across campus regarding patient food services
- Maintain time and attendance records and assist with payroll duties
- Coordinate and conduct 90-day evaluations for new hires
- Assist the Assistant Director of Patient Food Services with annual evaluations
- Perform all Room Service Ambassador/Operator duties
- Report to the Director of Nutrition Services
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma plus two years experience
- Computer/basic keyboard skills
- Telephone etiquette skills
- General knowledge of office machines including printers and copiers
- Customer focus driven with excellent verbal communication skills
- Two years of specialized training in customer service and/or healthcare service or experience in a food service or patient care setting desirable, or college course work in clinical nutrition or nutrition therapy may be substituted for work experience
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
