About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supports all department/clinic staff and providers who use the schedule for Perioperative Care Services procedural areas
- Manages case requests, ensuring accuracy and completion of required preauthorizations and clinical screenings before scheduling
- Monitors requested times for alignment with case time averaging and scheduling policies/procedures
- Collaborates with procedural area leadership on placement, staffing, and targeted room alignment
- Helps meet capacity, access, utilization, budgetary, and revenue targets
- Supports assigned specialties and services while meeting scheduling needs for any service, specialty, or department
- Acts as the point of contact for procedural scheduling across UAMS departments and clinics
- Provides professional, friendly customer service and problem-solving support
- Communicates accurate and complete information and maintains confidentiality
- Maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, management, and ancillary departments
- Follows patient and family-centered care concepts and Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines
- Assists internal and external stakeholders as needed
- May perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate, GED, or formal education equivalent plus (7) seven years of training and/or experience in business office administration, customer service, or related work, of which three years’ experience is in patient registration, scheduling, or billing in a healthcare environment OR Bachelor's degree plus three years’ experience in patient registration, scheduling, or billing in a healthcare environment
- High level of skill and understanding of Epic Optime required
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
