About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Perioperative, OR, Inpatient, and PACU Services at NWA Total Orthopedic and Surgical Hospital
Partner with the Administrative Director and department leaders to deliver patient- and family-centered care
Ensure quality, regulatory compliance, and strong physician and staff relationships across ambulatory and inpatient care
Assess staffing and throughput to meet patient acuity and productivity targets
Drive patient satisfaction, clinical metrics, employee engagement, and workforce stability
Coach and develop staff
Ensure compliance with CNO standards and patient-family-centered care
Lead strategic planning and vision with the leadership triad
Enable success across the hospital and MSK sites and foster cross-team collaboration
Engage professionally with the public and maintain confidential communication and stakeholder relationships
Oversee hiring, training, and evaluation of licensed and unlicensed staff
Partner with informatics for data-driven care and research
Align operations with Magnet standards and promote ongoing education and clinical research participation
Participate in the CLP Nursing Director Roundtable
Lead quality initiatives and advocate for high-quality, efficient nursing practice across NWA TOSH and MSK sites
Perform other duties to advance the mission of UAMS

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active RN who has graduated from an accredited nursing program
Graduate degree in nursing or a related field
Minimum of ten (10) years of nursing experience
At least four (4) years in RN leadership or managerial roles
State of Arkansas Registered Nurse licensure or eligibility for licensure in Arkansas
National Nursing Certification
Proven ability to lead clinical, operational, and financial aspects of patient care services
Strong collaboration, strategic planning, communication, and change-management skills
Commitment to Magnet standards, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
Annual TB screening, motor vehicle reports check, and substance abuse testing
Criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification may be required
