Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise department staff, monitoring daily activities and productivity and taking action to meet performance standards

  • Educate staff and ensure preparedness for Joint Commission, facility safety, and emergency preparedness standards
  • Maintain knowledge of professional requirements and state and federal regulations
  • Maintain job competencies, complete annual skills assessments, and document continuing education hours
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of Access Coordinators and Patient Representatives
  • Schedule, reschedule, coordinate, and cancel appointments using hospital systems
  • Develop and maintain training plans with management
  • Facilitate annual staff training and development and provide employee coaching
  • Complete employee evaluations
  • Work with CABC Support on timekeeping and HR matters
  • Promote teamwork and model Patient Family-Centered Care concepts
  • Conduct crucial conversations, progressive discipline when necessary, team meetings, and one-on-one meetings
  • Participate in onboarding, training, and staff development
  • Ensure proper information transfer and collection of front-end payments during check-in
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Supervise workflows including check-in/check-out, scheduling, registration, patient portals, e-requests, EPIC work queues, and physician referrals
  • Test, manage, and monitor workflows within UAMS electronic systems
  • Assume manager responsibilities during the manager's absence
  • Educate staff on scheduling requirements, physician templates, payer requirements, and government compliance rules
  • Conduct audits for productivity, quality, and compliance and develop corrective action plans with the administrative team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma, GED, or formal educational equivalent
  • Seven (7) years of experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Completion of pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, or a related field
  • Preferred: Three (3) years of experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment
  • Preferred: Leadership or supervisory experience
