About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Handle and dispense medical/surgical supplies in clinical areas, supply par areas, and various inventory locations
  • Fill par levels of medical/surgical supplies in automated supply cabinets and manual par areas daily and as assigned
  • Break down pallets and deliver supplies on carts
  • Refill central supply inventories and adjust inventory counts
  • Count and place replenishment orders as needed
  • Rotate supplies using FIFO (first in, first out)
  • Check package integrity and outdates; remove damaged or outdated supplies
  • Perform cycle counts and correct inventory counts
  • Maintain cabinets and carts in assigned areas
  • Organize shelves, bins, and labels and keep supply areas clean
  • Follow through on repairs to cabinets and carts
  • Remove unauthorized, excessive, damaged, or outdated supplies
  • Staff the Central Supply dispatch window
  • Issue and record supplies sent via pickup, delivery, or tube system
  • Greet visitors quickly and courteously
  • Answer phone inquiries and assist as needed
  • Issue procedural trays and carts and record issuance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School/GED or formal educational equivalent required
  • Six months of experience in supply distribution required
  • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
  • Three professional references required
  • Criminal background check
  • Substance abuse testing
  • Education verification may be required
  • Ability to perform required physical activities, including lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, reaching, stooping, and manipulating items with fingers
