About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, synthesise, characterise, biofunctionalise, and biologically evaluate magnetic nanoparticles for CNS drug delivery
  • Functionalise nanoparticle surfaces with proteins, peptides, and other targeting ligands
  • Conduct independent research and collaborate closely with members of the ARIA project team
  • Analyse and interpret research data
  • Disseminate findings through publications and conference presentations
  • Contribute to an ARIA-funded project on drug delivery to the Central Nervous System

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD in Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science or a closely related discipline, or completion within three months
  • Relevant research experience in nanomedicine
  • Experience in magnetic nanoparticle synthesis and characterisation, functionalisation and/or biological evaluation
  • Strong collaborative, analytical and communication skills
  • Right to work in the UK, or eligibility for employment sponsorship
  • CV and cover letter required for application
