  • Assist patients with healthcare management and clinical procedures under physician supervision
  • Provide hands-on patient care while adhering to regulatory requirements, standards of care, and institutional policies

  • Support safe delivery of care with the Nurse Manager, Nurse Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or designee
  • Support patients’ individual needs, spiritual beliefs, and practices
  • Establish trusting relationships with patients and families and provide emotional support
  • Prioritize and integrate multiple requests and work expectations safely and professionally
  • Communicate with patients, families, and team members in a timely manner
  • Participate in unit/clinic programs and meetings and contribute to team building
  • Use technology for communication, documentation, and clinical information
  • Maintain current clinical competencies and professional development
  • Ensure HIPAA and State/Federal regulatory compliance
  • Prepare treatment and examination rooms and assist providers with physical examinations
  • Manage and triage In-Basket messages, including patient calls, clinical requests, prescription/refill requests, scheduling, results, and follow-up
  • Process medical records, forms, and clinical documentation
  • Coordinate the Fast Track Clinic, scheduling, and patient coordination
  • Manage medication and imaging prior authorizations
  • Obtain, process, and distribute faxes
  • Complete scanning and document management
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to providers and clinical staff
  • Coordinate follow-up on patient needs to prevent delays in care
  • Serve as a team resource and maintain efficient departmental workflows
  • Support increasing patient volume, access needs, and operational demands

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate from Medical Assistant educational program or equivalent program
  • Approved MA certification: CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), NCMA (NHA- NCCT), or NRCMA (NAHP)
  • Minimum of 4 years previous experience
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Florida HIV/AIDS Healthcare Professional Continuing Education (CE) Certification
  • Strong, effective communication skills with patients, families, and clinical team
  • Ability to adapt and exhibit flexibility in changing environments
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to uphold professional ethics and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered
